End of Year Gift for Teachers

So I have finally found some time to be crafty!  AND it had nothing to do with the wedding :)  I have been surfing around on Pinterest trying to find some unique ideas for possible bridesmaids gifts and stumbled upon this little gem:

So I never read the full instructions....I just kind of winged the thing.  I made one for each of Julia's preschool teachers.  I tried to ask Julia what colors her teachers would like and she came up with green and neon orange.  Not. Happening.  So we compromised on purple since her class is the Purple People Eaters.  Here's what I came up with:

You can't really tell from the picture but I added some rhinestones to the circles around the monogram.  The ribbon doesn't match the paint color perfectly but it was on clearance at Joann's for a buck and trust me, the colors look a lot closer in person.

What do you think?

Does this count as Crafty?

I've been living in my home for a year and a half but sometimes it feels like I just moved in yesterday.  It's a very slow process to decorate your home when your budget is zero dollars.   YesterdayI decided to rearrange the picture frames in my house to create this:

It's my first picture collage and I'm pretty happy with the results, however MANY lessons were learned.  Well, I learned that I have no idea how to find the right place to place my nails.  Sadly, there were no measuring devices used in the making of this picture collage and that is why I will need a lot of spackle before I put my house on the market ;)

Have you ever hung a picture collage?

Any tips?

A Hokie Christmas Gift

Good Morning!  Yesterday I whipped up a Christmas gift for a very special guy :)  I really love making gifts for people because it allows me to be crafty and I feel the gifts are more meaningful based on the amount of time I have put into creating the gift.

The downside to using licensed materials is the cost.  This blanket really cost the same amount that a blanket at the store would cost.  I didn't realize at the time that the fleece that was on-sale was everything EXCEPT the licensed prints :(  Since I didn't realize that, I didn't come prepared with a coupon for a full-price item.  Oh well, I think he will love it anyway.

Hello :)

So this is going to be the place that I document all my crafty things.  I dabble in a lot of things but haven't really mastered any.  You can come here to see what I think is cool and what I am currently dabbling in :)
